Our Story

In 2006, Chris Stark was a successful sales professional working in medical equipment sales. Like most salespeople, he got calls from recruiters all the time—people claiming they had the "perfect opportunity" for him.

Most of those calls were terrible.

Recruiters who hadn't read his resume. Recruiters pitching roles that made no sense for his background. Recruiters who disappeared the moment he didn't immediately say yes. It was transactional, impersonal, and frustrating.

Chris realized: if this is what it's like to be a candidate, it must be even worse to be a hiring manager working with these firms.

So he started The CAS Group with a simple idea: What if recruiting was actually done well?

What if recruiters took the time to understand both sides? What if they only submitted candidates who were qualified and truly interested? What if they treated recruiting like a long-term partnership instead of a quick transaction?

With that vision, our no-compromise approach to sales and sales management recruitment was born.

Chris Stark

Chris started the CAS Group in 2006 with a vision to change the culture of traditional sales recruiting. As a successful sales professional who witnessed the recruiting process first-hand, Chris felt there had to be a better way to recruit. He put that mindset into action by developing a no-compromise approach to his recruiting style. By actively listening to the wants, needs, objectives and goals of his candidates and clients, he is able to successfully uncover a mutually beneficial long term fit for both.

When Chris is not working, you can find him doing something outdoors. He loves to hunt, golf, ski and spend time with his wife and two daughters.

Ian Heizer

Ian Heizer joined the CAS Group in 2016 after coming from an insurance background. Ian took a recruiting role specializing in, but not limited to sales opportunities. Ian wanted to take the jump into recruiting due to his desire to help others. Finding a position where he is able to build relationships with others has always been a goal for Ian.

Outside of the office, Ian can be found either golfing, playing softball, or spending time with his family.

Ian graduated Cum Laude from Webster University with a Bachelor of Arts in Management, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. He was also a four-year member of the Webster University golf team.

 
 
 
 

Katie Walgren

Katie is thrilled to be the newest addition to The CAS Group, joining in late 2023 with a dynamic background spanning both inside and outside sales. The joy of connecting, understanding needs, and building relationships has fueled her passion. Now, transitioning into recruiting lets her leverage these strengths to drive careers and nurture growth for individuals and companies alike.

 Outside of work, Katie can be found at Blues and STLCity Soccer games, trying new restaurants, playing soccer, spending time with family and friends, or traveling.

 Katie graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor in Sales and Marketing. She played four years of soccer while maintaining relationships, jobs, and other clubs.
